Director: The Cyprus Studies Center (ASBU-KAM) was established in 2017 in Ankara Social Sciences University Northern campus with the aim of promoting scientific research on the cultural, historical and political problems of Cyprus. The research interests span a wide spectrum from archeology to anthropology, from economics to history, from linguistics to folklore and literature.
The aims of the Center are as follows: To conduct research on Cyprus in general, and specifically on Turkish Cypriot history, archeology, geography, literature, art, nature, folklore, law, political science, economy, finance, tourism, sports and other Cyprus-related issues. to encourage it;
To cooperate and collaborate with similar institutions at home or abroad;
To create a special archive, library and information center for Cyprus research.
The center, which hosted panels and symposiums on different subjects at various times, realized the project called Cyprus Turkish Literature History (1571-2017). The project, which is the first in its field, was realized with the contributions of the Turkish Embassy and the execution of our Center. Nearly 100 scientists worked on the project. Project Prof.Dr. It was conducted by Oğuz Karakartal and İsmail Bozkurt. In addition, many publications have been made in the field of Turkish Cypriot Literature and History.
The Journal of Cyprus Studies and Studies, which has been the periodical of the Center for Cyprus Studies since 2017, is an international and peer-reviewed journal with versatility in content. In the Journal, where Turkish and English studies are published together, in addition to original critical essays or research articles, there are also book introductions and reviews, interviews and bibliographic studies. In addition, from time to time, archive studies consisting of historical, political, legal and cultural documents related to the history of Cyprus are also included.
