The story about the ASBU logo and emblem
Our rectorate building was built by Architect Yahya Ahmet Bey in 1925. This heritage building which was the first Prime Ministry Building of the Republic of Turkey, is also of importance to the architectural style. As a matter of course, the key element used for our emblem is a stylization of a section of our building, which has a particular importance and historical significance.
The Tree of Life is a holy tree that rises sevenfold over the sky from the centrosphere and it is believed to have existed since the creation of the world. It represents the universe and the three symbols of the universe, which continue its existence in a broad sense, and make continuous progress and change. With the roots descending deep into the earth, it reunites the earth with its undergrowth, with its branches and trunk, it reunites the sky, and finally t it reunites the heaven with its upper branches that rise to the light. It provides communication between earth and heaven. The green colour, longevity, durability, beautiful shape and length, which are constantly used in Tree of Life motifs, make it a potent symbol of goodness and beauty.
